The Peter Marchi Shot
History
It happened during a Peter Marchi Knock-Out Cup Match a few seasons ago.....
Jody had had a very tight frame which he won by doubling the black intentionally down the full length of the table. Since then we have called this type of shot a "Peter Marchi" - and yes, we are better at snooker than we are at naming things!
Criteria
To qualify for a "Peter Marchi Shot" (or "PMS") firstly the shot must be attempted during a competitive club game. The player must then inform a club member.
The club member will then:
a) Confirm the balls are in a qualifying position
b) Witness the shot
c) Confirm the outcome to the rest of the team, whether successful or not
The attempt nomination must be made immediately prior to the shot and is valid only for that attempt. If the player wishes to have another attempt in their next shot this must again be confirmed with a club member.
Any claimed attempt outside of this criteria will be at the discretion of the captain.
