Ashlett C Snooker Team play in Division 1 of the Southampton Social Clubs League. Our home games are played on Monday nights at Ashlett Club
in Fawley. We are a two table club, and we also have an excellent bar!

It’s been a while! Due to circumstances beyond our control it has been ages since the site was updated, hence three new match reports being posted today. The stats have lagged behind a bit as well, so if anyone can provide me with the up-to-date info I will be able to sort that (e-mail: snooker@ashlettcsnooker.com).And thanks very much for the card- hopefully normal service will now be resumed.

It’s been a busy week for the team, with two matches to play this week. First up was our usual league game against Acorn Social B where we managed a 3-2 win on Monday night. We were back in action on Tuesday for a Peter Marchi Cup knock-out game against Minstead Social C where we again were victorious, winning 3-2. Even better, we have two match reports available now! Could the match report promptness be a good prediction of winning ways …..

Sorry for lack of a match report last week…this was due to the fact that no-one wrote one! Hopefully some clever soul will write one this week. It’s not been the best couple of weeks, with two losses to report, which might explain the lack of the match report! Onwards and upwards to the next match.

So here we are at the start of September, with another season only a few days away. The first game of the season is no MONDAY SEPTEMBER 5th away at Minstead.
There have been some changes over the summer - Bernard is now captain of the team, Jody vice-captain, and we have been promoted to Division One, without having to play the threatened play-off match.

It’s now official. We finished joint second in Division Two this year. The good news is we will get a runners up trophy. The bad news is the result means we now have one more match to play to decide whether we or Shirley Cons B will be promoted to Division One, having finished the season on equal points, matches won and frames won. Come on team, we know we belong in Division One really. Details of the play off will be posted as soon as we have them.

With the season now at a close, we face a bit of a wait to see where exactly we finished the season in the league tables. Had we won our last match, we would have won the Division, but losing 4-1 to Northam B means we have to wait for all the results to come in.
Badger has now finished in his role as captain, but will continue to play for the team. As soon as we know who the luck soul (!) taking over from him is, we will post it here for all to see.
The website will be undergoing a bit of work during the off-season. Hopefully you will see we are all set for the return of the individual player stats, including PMS and In offs, due to popular demand. If tehre is anything else you would like to see drop me an e-mail at snooker@ashlettcsnooker.com and I will see what I can do.
For now, enjoy the brief break...it’ll be September before you know it!

As the season draws to a close we seem to have hit new highs, with three 4-1 wins in a row, the latest against Nursling Social C. Only one match left to play - next weeks match against Northam B which was rescheduled after we were due to play them on New Years Day. Fingers crossed we can keep it up and see out Badger’s captaincy on another win.... and who knows, maybe even a match report.

A cracking win this week, beating Shirley Cons C 3-2 at home. What a result! A reported loss would have been the stuff of nightmares. Hopefully we will soon have a match report documenting this momentous triumph.

Sorry for the long time since the last update. As you can see, we have been re-jigging the website a little. Hopefully you will all like the new look. By now you will all know that Mark has decided to stand down as Captain from the end of the season, but he will still be playing for the team.
The latest league table in the Echo shows us as top of the division, and a 3-2 win over Swaythling A last night was a big help in our aim to finish in the top three. Hopefully a match report will follow shortly...

Apologies for the lack of updates recently. This has been entirely due to a lack of enthusiasm from the tech bods. The good news is their faith has been restored by a great 5-0 win over Shirley Cons C - and normal service will now be resumed!

Apologies for not updating the site for a while. Fortunately I can report we have had two wins, placing us joint second in the division.

Apologies - again it has been a while since the site was updated :-( The season is now well over, and we ended quite well, finishing fith in the division. We won far more matches than we lost, and didn't have too many 5-0 losses! The captains summary of the season will follow on the match report page. Keep your eyes open around the end of the summer for the fixture lists for next season, and enjoy the sunshine.

It's been a while since we updated the site. A few wins and losses have occured and the end of the season draws ever nearer. At the moment it is looking like we will finish a strong 5th or 6th in the division - let's hope for fifth!

So, we didn't have a very good week losing 3-2 at home to Swaythling A - a team we have yet to beat. Still, that is no excuse for the lack of a match report for last week, or indeed this weeks games! Hopefully something will appear soon..... and so it is now here!

Having managed to play our match last Thursday, we are now out of the Peter Marchi Cup, losing 4-1 at home to Brook Social B.
Looking forward to a good home game tomorrow night to get the year back on track.

So far into the new year and still no snooker played!
With both last weeks Peter Marchi KO Cup game and this weeks league game being delayed due to the weather, we have yet to play a match this year.
Hopefully we will be playing the KO Cup Game on Thursday evening at home - I will keep you posted.

Well, it was a dismal end to the years fixtures with a 4-1 loss away to Shirley Cons C.
There will be no match report because frankly some things are best forgotten, and anyway we have all been far to busy with festive activities to think much about snooker!
The date of our next fixture has been moved - we now play our first game of 2010 on January 11th, instead of January 4th. See you there, and a happy new year to all.

GENEROUS DONATION TO SNOOKER SECTION RECIEVED
Mark's Gran bless her, after seeing the article on the team in the Daily Echo has insisted on donating £500 to the snooker section. We all need to get our heads together and decide on the best use of the money. I am sure we would all be in agreement that new balls for both tables are needed and I would like to revive the Ashlett Snooker competition and start a winners shield in Grans name (Dorothy Britton). Other than this perhaps some new cues for the club rack, but this is something for us all to decide.
